Monkey's Birthday Party

I'm a little late on the birthday party recap....

He wanted everything to be lego....and Lego it was!

Starting with the very invitation....I made up a knock knock joke.
Knock, Knock?
(who's there?)
Lego
(lego who?)
LEGO to Monkey's Birthday party! :)

heehee.....get it....like "let's go"

Here's the lego cake.

I even had a lego guy hold a candle. :)

We played a game where they had to toss the legos into this little bowl.  The first time Monkey only got one think, but the second time he got all 5!  He was the only one to do that so he was theg grand prize winner.  :)

We had a great time....here's a couple gift shots.

Roll instead of fold

I'm sure you've seen/heard/done this, but I thought I'd enlighten you anyway.  When we go on a long vacation and we have too many clothes to fit in your suitcase, if you roll them instead of fold them you can fit many more clothes in there.  It's an awesome trick.  Well I decided to use it on the boys drawers just because they don't put their clothes in their nicely and the messier it is the harder it is to fit them all in there.

Then I was switching Monkey's clothes out and giving him a bigger size.  So I had to put all his other clothes in a tote for Bear for next year.  There were too many....

So I decided to roll these too!  And wha-la!  I got them to all fit in the tote.

Yay for a easy trick on organizing and packing.

Garlic Cheese Breadsticks

The other day I realized we didn't have any pizza sauce, so instead we just made a double batch of garlic cheese breadsticks.

Pizza Dough (I make my own dough, super easy.  Click the link for the recipe)
Mozz Cheese
Cheddar Cheese
Garlic Salt

Mix the dough together.  Roll out and bake at 375 for 8-9 minutes.

Sprinkle a good amount of garlic salt.  It takes a good amount to be able to taste the garlic salt.  You will just have to experiment with how much is good according to your liking.  Top with cheeses and bake another 9-10 minutes, or until the cheese is golden.

Wha-la!  Now enjoy this simple meal/snack/sidedish/treat....whatever you want to call it.

Water Experiments 3

Quick and easy water experiment.

Water has 'skin'.  And to show an example of this, fill a cup up to the brim.  Use a coin and press gently into the top of the water.  Notice how the water moves in before the coin breaks through the 'skin' of the water.

 Ooooh, Ahhh. :)

Then continue dropping the coins in carefully along the side.  See how many coins you can put in there before the water spills over.   The skin helps hold the water in the cup, even as it bubbles up over the top of the cup.  Do you see the water bubbling over the top edge in these pictures?

I don't think I quite had it to the "brim" so it took us a few more coins to get the bubble, and to get the water to break that 'skin' and spill out.

Have fun experimenting with water. :)
