CPR Class

CPR class

TJ Is not an actor by any means......he is a comedian/ice breaker/make you laugh kind of guy.  But. he can not be serious.  You can not be in a serious place with him.  It’s semi-embarrassing.

Tonight we were at a CPR class for our foster care training.  We had to practice techniques on each other and on test dummies.
First when we were practicing on each other how to check signs, you’re supposed to ask the victim questions to see how seriously they are hurt.  TJ plays a very terrible victim in this senario....and worse off he plays a bad CPR/first aid responder.  He was the victim first and I was trying to look around and see if he was ok, and then asking him questions to see if he could move, or needed help....he’s just laughing at me, and not taking it seriously at all.  Then worse off when he’s the one supposed to be asking the questions, he’s laughing at me again, and laughing as he asks the questions.

Next, we are practicing doing the heimlich on a baby doll, and everyone is lifting the baby and you have to tap on the back, and then turn them over and push on the chest and we are going back and forth and people are bumping the doll head on the table.  He chuckled at that.

Then worst off, which almost made me laugh out loud during the practicing....we are all on the floor, practicing CPR on these test dummies, and we have these protective plastic mouth guards.  During one of the breathing times when TJ was breathing air into the doll he make a squeeky noise on the plastic protector and chuckled.  That did not help.  I almost started laughing and would have had to stop practicing but we were supposed to keep going for 2 minutes.

Oh boy!

What a bad example he is!

Real Mashed Potatoes

Here's a simple easy reminder for you today as a great supper choice.  Try it for supper tomorrow.  I semi blogged the mashed potatoes with the meatball recipe, so this is kinda doubling up, but ohhhhhh so worth it!

Sour Cream and Onion Chicken with Mashed Potatoes.

I'm talking REAL mashed potatoes!!

Yummy Mashed potatoes.
8-10 small-medium potatoes
4 oz cream cheese
3/4 stick of butter
6-8 oz sour cream

Boil the potatoes until tender. I add the butter cream cheese and sour cream and them mix with until mashed up with the hand mixer*.  It's easier than using the manual potato masher. :)

Click on the link to get to the chicken recipe.....this meal tonight was soooooooooo delicious!  I almost want to make it again tomorrow night!  Yummy!

By the way.....I found 37 more new recipes to try out for you all....so watch out!  First I just have to have time, and a vehicle to go get the groceries for them all.

Barbeque Chicken

Last night we were at a friends house for supper.  They made chicken and ribs on the grill.  It was very tasty.  We like to grill things but we are very simple grillers usually.  We tend to lean towards hamburgers, pork chops, brats, kabobs, potatoes....things like that.  We really need to branch out in this area.  Last night was our motivation apparently.

We got a free 25lb bag of bone in chicken.  So after last night, I was wanting to try something out of the norm for us.  So we used this chicken, got some Famous Dave's Rich & Sassy barbeque sauce and tried something new.  And by new I mean, different than the usual griller meat for us. :)

First I had to take all the skin and fat off the chicken.  Then We grilled it for about 30 minutes flipping it every 5 minutes.  After we checked the temperature with the food thermometer to make sure the chicken was cooked through, we put some sauce on it and glazed it on top.

Then I like to have more sauce on the side to dip the chicken into while eating.  We also had cucumber's along with this meal.  Great side dish for grilled food. :)

Yummy!

The MN Zoo

TJ and I took the kids to the MN Zoo for the first time yesterday.
It was a beautiful day for us to enjoy God's beautiful creation!

I love looking at the sky and animals, and the mysteries of it all.  The habits, and actions how things work.  God is so amazing!  He included to many fine details in the workings of everything and yet it all comes together and makes sense and has a purpose. AWESOME!

Here's a few neat shots of the animals.

I think this is a simply amazing creature.
And I don't recall ever seeing one up close before....this was HUGE!  Almost as big as Bear just sitting there.  Just imagine how long it's wings stretch out.

The Butterfly Gardens was a super fun place to take pictures in.....

The bears put on a good show for everyone.  They were just fighting/playing around.  But it was like a tug of war....one trying to get the other to fall in the water, and the other trying to get him to come out of the water.

I liked these camels....first from a distance it looked like they were laying down, but when we got closer we realized they were standing in deep water.  funny.

Watch out, this guys looking at you. :)

Prairie Dogs
These guys were fun to watch.  They made a funny noise too. :)

There is a play ground so we let the kids play for a few minutes.  They had lots of fun inventive things to play on, a tree house, bridge, animals, boat, spider net, etc....but of everything Monkey said his favorite thing was climbing on this giant mosquito. :)
